Prior to starting BFSI, Thomas Wood, founder and President, spent over 10 years working primarily with middle market companies in the asset based lending department at national and regional financial institutions. Significant experience was gained in auditing, operations, credit analysis/underwriting, and business development. Mr.Wood has CFO experience. He has also done contract work in "special assets" group, as well as performed ABL field examinations for secured lenders.
An MBA graduate of Babson College,-- the top ranked entrepreneurial college in USA, Mr. Wood has written articles published in "The Secured Lender and Crains," appeared on Cleveland, Ohio WERE radio station to discuss "alternative funding." Mr. Wood has also appeared as a guest speaker at NE Ohio COSE conferences and local CDC gatherings to discuss the benefits and impact "alternative funding" can have on companies in need.
Babson College entrepreneurial education model was tapped by Goldman Sachs as the blue print to be used by Greater Cleveland Partnership in its 10,000 small business entrepreneurial education program rolled out several years back which is sponsored by Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Wood is a past member (1995-2004) of NE Ohio government loan committees where federal 504 and state 166 loans were decisioned. Additional expertise in other SBA loan programs was also gained. Government loan product knowledge and contacts add to Mr. Wood's overall commercial loan expertise.
